Crossroads is the result of the grassroots advocacy and mobilization led by members of the Greater Shenandoah Valley Brain Injury Support Group.
The overwhelming challenges faced by these families when a loved one sustained a brain injury made it evident that specialized were desperately needed in our area.
The group formed Crossroads in 2005 to provide case management services. In 2006, Crossroads was awarded a contract from the Commonwealth of Virginia to begin providing these services.
In early 2007, Crossroads was accepted as an affiliate member of James Madison University’s Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS) and moved into its offices in Blue Ridge Hall on the University’s campus. Crossroads began serving survivors in March 2007.
